Their tikka masala is awesome. I love their bowls. The younger generation have taken over the business. Can't wait to see what they do.

I've slowly been making away around the Indian restaurants around the Twin Cities and this is one of my new favorites! It is in the Longfellow neighborhood and there are metered parking spots out front. No wait on a Monday at 6pm. They started by automatically bringing us out a type of wafer with 3 different dips. It looked like it would be really dry, but they actually melted in your mouth! I had the Delhi Tikka Masala with chicken. You can choose your meat, fish, or make it vegetarian and there are 4 spice levels to choose from for the dishes and the entrees come with basmati rice. Let's just say that I'm already excited to go back again. The flavors and spices on this dish exploded in my mouth. Good size portions and I was able to take some home so I can enjoy again tomorrow. Friendly service and decent prices.

This place rules. Owners are community-oriented and wonderful, so that makes it even better. The food is fresh and flavorful, and many dishes use produce grown in their garden and aquaponics system. I always go for the Chana saag with added mushrooms. Beware that spice level is higher than that of many Indian restaurants in Minnesota!! Medium was pretty hot last time for me, a spice lover. Last time the owner gave me a rice pudding...for free :') I'd give this place my business every day if I could. Eating their food will make you feel warm, loved, and appreciative of where you are.

Delicious Indian food. I had the King Korma and my girlfriend had the mushroom paneer. Prices are good, portions are decent and the food is very tasty. One warning, if you're not familiar with their spice level, medium is the level of raw jalapeño and it really is. They aren't kidding. I got medium and it is what I would call hot other places. But still tasty. Just be warned!

There are a lot of decent places to get Indian food in the Twin Cities. Whenever I eat at Gandhi Mahal, I wonder why I bother with those places. I've never had anything at Gandhi Mahal that wasn't delicious. My favorite dish is the coconut curry with shrimp, which may be the tastiest thing I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. The avocado chutney is also mind blowing. I want to be cute and call it an Indian guacamole, but that's not accurate -- it has this unique creaminess and spice profile I can't decipher. Just trust me and get this! The vegetarian curries are good too, and they're not overly creamy and greasy like at most places. The veggies are the star. I also love their mango and pistachio lassis. I usually don't order a lassi because I don't want to fill up, but these are way better than typical ones and are worth it. The atmosphere is nice -- on a recent Saturday night, they had live music. The service isn't the friendliest, but the food is so good they could plop it down in front of me for all I care. Seriously, the only Indian place in town that's comparable in quality is Gorkha Palace. Minneapolis at its best!

This is some of the best authentic Indian food I have had. In addition, the service is excellent. I went for dinner tonight and was seated promptly in a quieter table, as I requested. My server was Aaron and he made some great recommendations. Turns out, he works in the kitchen during the lunch hour. Based on his recommendation, I got the chicken reshmi kebab, a tandoori dish. The chicken was moist, juicy and flavorful. It came on a bed of charred onions. Aaron also brought out some raita (yogurt) to compliment the chicken. I also got the tandoori salmon tikka masala, a nice alternative to the traditional chicken tikka masala. Once again this was an amazing dish and went perfect with my tandoori roti and glass of Cabernet. Aaron also informed me that they are the ONLY restaurant in the country (possibly) that farms their own tilapia, mint, and other herbs in their basement. Naturally, I had to go check it out and satisfy my curiosity :). He wasn't kidding, check out my pictures. It doesn't get more real, authentic and fresh than this! I took leftovers home with an order of naan to eat for lunch tomorrow, even though I am visiting from out of town. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu.
